Conga Line
1. Students number off 1-2.
2. ONES make a line, shoulder-to-shoulder.
3. TWOS make a line facing the ones.
4. At the signal, ONES step forward. Students share.*
5. When finished sharing, ONES step back.
6. TWOS step to the left for a new partner.
7. One student at the end moves down the line to their new partner.**
8. Repeat 1-7!
*Students can share by asking a question and getting a response, making up a sentence with a given vocabulary word, reading a category and asking for exemplars, etc etc etc! You may want to give students some type of support, for example an index card with information written on it. You may also want to ask students to trade cards after they share, and take a new card to their next partner. For example: Students have index cards with vocabulary words on them, and are directed to say a sentence with their word to their partner. They then trade cards, move to a new partner, and say a sentence with the vocabulary word on their new card.
**Students might dance, boogie, walk, turn cartwheels, etc! Teachers may play music, direct the class to clap, etc!
